Comments:
Salisbury is an interesting facility. The POP equipment is housed in the
equipment building of an active AT&T microwave tower. The tower links the
POP to the long distance switch in Baltimore. A fiber optic cable links the POP
(via another POP in Dover)
to a fiber optic cable that links Camden, NJ to Dranesville, VA. Additionally,
Sprint is colocated at this POP (or most likely buys capacity from AT&T).
The ICG exchange was assigned here around 07/2004 but at the time of this
writing (11/2004) the exchange has been moved to the Bell Atlantic tandem
office in downtown Salisbury and reassigned to Level 3. It is mostly likely
backhauled to Level 3's Baltimore switch. The ICG exchange has been left here
for historical purposes.
