Comments:
Office is a striking example of late 70s modern architecture. Refreshingly new
yet not terribly dated, I've been told the actual switch only occupies a small
portion of the buidling. This departure in design maybe due to the fact that
the office was originally built under the ownership of the Norfolk &
Carolina Telephone & Telegraph Company during the 1970s. Later the office
was sold to United Inter-Mountain Telephone Co. based in TN and who serves about
half of the VA 276 NPA.
This was done for some unkoown reason when N&CT&T was merged into
Carolina Telephone & Telegraph (also part of the United Telephone family of
companies) in the late '70s.
