Village Ave was and still is to a certain extent the hub of COX Fibernet's
three switch CLEC operation in Virginia. However, over the last several years
Village Ave has been disgorged of many of its exchanges. 204, 410, and 935 have
been moved to the Chesapeake switch, while 224-5, 234, 345, 369, 968 and 741
have been transfered to the Louise Dr switch in Newport News. Additionally, the
exchanges assigned to NRFLVAVLDS0 were also once assigned to NRFLVAJTDS0.
Although, location information for NRFLVAVLDS0 has not been confirmed it
appears to be a CLLI swap. Village Ave is behind COXes Norfolk headend where
public access WCOX, Ch. 11 is produced and distributed from. Village Ave. is
also one of the only places one will find a COX Fibernet payphone.
